Renting your house?
We work with owners and their agents to help keep their rental property gardens in tip top condition. Owners hire me for many reasons. A well kept garden can attract the right tenant and good rent. Who doesn't want their garden to be perfect when they return from interstate or overseas posting? And nobody wants a nasty ACTEWAGL bill for cutting back trees from power lines, when you can save that money by simply asking me to keep it under control. How could we help you?
Planning to sell?
A garden can be one of your house's greatest assets. We have a lot of experience in getting houses 'sale ready' for potential buyers to fall in love. Find out how we can help you.
Water harvesting
WSUD is the latest buzz - Water Sensitive Urban Design - we've been involved for over a decade already! The problem is the increases in urban density (more roofs, drives and roads) leads to more intense run-off of rainfall and less water going into the soil to hydrate landscapes and keep them thriving. Suburban landscapes to lose resilience as they become dry, thin and brittle.
The solution is a unique and elegant design and construction of perched water tables - called water harvesting creek beds - with these benefits:
The solution is a unique and elegant design and construction of perched water tables - called water harvesting creek beds - with these benefits:
- reduces and slows down runoff water flow during rain events
- holds water back in the landscape where it falls and stretches out periods before water stress is reached in plants
- cleans water and prevents surface evaporation
- makes stored water readily available to plants during growth periods with HUGE BENEFITS; massive increases in leaf growth with huge cooling effects on a hot day, increased shade and habitat, aesthetic appeal, and carbon lockup in the extra wood grown. See the difference in trunk girths below. This left is of a tree without access to harvested water. The right tree had access to harvested water.
Your questions
Does it have to be a whole site?
No - freestanding sections may be possible. Feasibility can be determined during an initial site meeting.
What about grey-water from the house?
This approach can successfully manage grey water use for the landscape. Local building codes vary and will need to be checked for compliance.
How long has this system been used and proven?
Installed systems have been used directly for over a decade. This approach copies natures' treatment in the Australian landscape - water stored and travelling below the surface, in sand filled beds, which has worked for millennia.
Does it cost much?
A whole site system is a significant element of infrastructure. It can be a reasonable portion of a conventional landscape, incorporating much of the earthworks costs required normally.
Is it better than a rain tank?
I believe it is, because this system needs very little management, maintenance or repairs. It has water readily available when plants need it. It is possible to incorporate a tank into the system to match.
I'm interested. What do I do next?
We prefer that you to book an initial consultation time to make sure we can give you the attention we know you'd like.

Your questions
- Do I need to be home?
NO. All we need are instructions on how to enter your property, for example: watch out for the dog, close the gate, phone half an hour ahead and so on. - What time of the day do you visit?
Our service time runs from afternoon until about 9 pm at night, preferably after rain, with a descending waning moon. The spray is drawn into the Earth and doesn't dry off at the surface. - How long does your service take?
We run a tight schedule so each visit to a normal suburban block usually takes 15 minutes. - If your visit is only 15 minutes, why does it cost $180?
Our pricing includes our special expertise to buy and store the preparations, prepare the spray materials and the spray, and deliver it to your property. - I'm interested. What do I do next?

Come Alive! compost
Tim's Come Alive! compost is rich in nutrients. Compiled with care by hand and including the BD500 biodynamic compost preparations.
These preparations help hold the nutrients within the compost during the breakdown stage and guide the rebuilding of nutrients into high level humus.
Remember, compost is ALIVE and belongs to the earth! So keep it fresh. Moist is best, not exposed to sunlight. It spreads best in the rain. Mix it into garden beds or cover it with mulch.

Use this great compost for
- growing wheatgrass like the batch shown above. What is wheatgrass used for?
- adding to potting mix to grow your own annuals in seed trays
- adding a handful when planting out seedlings ( and perennials!)
- sprinkle a little during preparation for a seed row in the kitchen garden
- brewing your own 'liquid fertiliser' Compost Tea to be applied with a watering can
Your questions
- How much do I need?
A little can go a long way. One 20 litre bag is a good place to start for a home kitchen garden at the start of the season and depends on the size and health of your garden. Call us for a chat. - Can I pick it up?
Yes. Just contact us to arrange a time to collect from near Griffith Shops. - Can you deliver?
Yes. Delivery is an additional $15, unless we are providing another service, in which case delivery is complementary. - How quickly can you deliver?
We will deliver your compost as soon as possible, usually within 2 days. - Do I need to be home to take delivery?
No. Just make sure you let us know where you'd like us to put the compost. - Do I need to know anything else about the compost?
Yes! It's ALIVE! So keep it fresh. Moist is best (don't let it dry out). Compost belongs to the earth. Make sure it is not exposed to sunlight. It spreads best before rain, or water it in (LOVE the tank water!). Mix into garden beds or cover with mulch.
